28 CONTENT IDEAS FOR FEBRUARY

28 CONTENT IDEAS FOR FEBRUARY

It's February on Saturday — this month has both flown and dragged in the weirdest way, do you agree?

But like it or not, February is 2 days away and it's the month of love.

Which is actually the perfect time (and theme) to focus on strengthening the connection with your audience. The key to growing your business is helping people KNOW you, LIKE you, and TRUST you.

When you show up authentically and share valuable content, your ideal clients will be eager to work with you!

To make things easier for you, I've put together 28 content ideas for this coming month—one for each day.

Use these prompts to engage, inspire, and connect with your audience in a meaningful way.

KNOW, LIKE & TRUST!

These three words are essential when building your business and creating content. By consistently sharing content that lets people know who you are, like you (by showcasing shared interests and values), and trust you (demonstrating your expertise and ability to help), you accelerate connections, making your ideal clients eager to work with you!

Starting from February 1st, I've got 28 ideas to carry you through the month to help you foster know, like and trust with your audience. You’re welcome (wink!)

These are in no particular order (apart from the national themed days, of course).

February 1st: Share your business journey and what you love most about what you do.

February 2nd: Did you know Groundhog Day is all about predicting the future? Share a fun fact about this tradition and relate it to taking bold steps in business instead of waiting for “perfect” conditions.

February 3rd: Highlight your favourite service or product and explain what clients can expect from it.

February 4th: Tell us about your favourite service/offer/course/product and what people can expect from it.

February 5th: Showcase your workspace or home office setup.

February 6th: Share a behind-the-scenes look at your daily routine.

February 7th: Feature a client testimonial or success story.

February 8th: Share the story behind why you started your business.

February 9th: Share your favourite productivity tip or tool and explain how it directly supports the work you do with your clients, making their journey easier and more effective.

February 10th: Post your favourite inspirational quote and invite your followers to share theirs.

February 11th: Discuss your self-care routine and ask your audience about theirs.

February 12th: Share something you're proud of and encourage your followers to do the same.

February 13th: It's Galentine's Day! Celebrate the important friendships in your life.

February 14th: Valentine's Day – share how you're celebrating and express appreciation for your clients.

February 15th: Discuss what motivates you and ask your audience to share their motivations.

February 16th: Do a "This or That" post related to your industry and share your preferences.

February 17th: Random Acts of Kindness Day – share a time you performed or received a random act of kindness.

February 18th: Talk about any friendships you've formed through your business.

February 19th: Explain why you love working with your ideal clients.

February 20th: Share your favourite self-care or mindset book and how it has impacted you.

February 21st: Open up about a challenge you've faced and how you overcame it.

February 22nd: Be Humble Day – discuss the importance of humility in your personal or professional life.

February 23rd: Quote yourself! Share a statement you stand by that you've authored.

February 24th: Share five things people might not know about you to showcase your personality.

February 25th: Post a time-lapse video of you engaging in a hobby or business-related task.

February 26th: National Fairy Tale Day – share your favourite fairy tale and ask your audience to share theirs.

February 27th: Highlight 1-3 offerings from your business that your audience might not be aware of.

February 28th: Reflect on the month and share what you most love about helping your clients.

I hope this list sparks some inspiration for you! Let me know in the comments below which ideas you plan to use, and feel free to send me a message, if you have any questions.

WHAT'S YOUR WORD OR THEME OF THE YEAR (+ 167 IDEAS)

WHAT'S YOUR WORD OR THEME OF THE YEAR (+ 167 IDEAS)

Have you heard the concept of picking a word or theme for the year? The idea is that you choose one word that sums up your goals and dreams for the next 12 months.

Having one word means you have an overarching focus for the year ahead. It’s like setting an intention for what you want to be, do, have and create.

The word can be a value or a feeling.

Then when you make decisions, you can think about whether it aligns with what you really want

I’ve chosen VIBRANT for 2023.

My Word/Theme Of The Year for 2023

I felt run down over the Christmas period (as many of us did) so I wanted to have a word that felt the opposite of the meh feeling that seemed to hang over me for most of December.

I’ve always loved the energy of the New Year though and I was ON IT when it came to 1st Jan. We’ve been painting rooms, ordering furniture, decluttering, making big decisions in my business, planning, starting up hobbies again.

I don’t want this to be a ‘January thing’. I want to keep this energy all year long. So VIBRANT was the word that stuck.

To me ‘VIBRANT’ means:

  • Feeling energised.

  • Feeling ALIVE!

  • Waking up feeling excited

  • Feeling excited.

  • Moving in a way that makes me feel healthy.

  • Eating food that really nourish me.

  • Fresh air.

  • Nature.

  • People that energise me.

  • Activities that energise me.

  • Following my dreams.

  • And by the looks of my mini mood board…the beach!

It crosses into every area of my life. I’m excited to keep working on and feeling vibrant in my business, relationships, health, home and life.

NOT SURE WHICH WORD TO CHOOSE?

I’VE CREATED A LIST TO HOPEFULLY INSPIRE YOU.

EXPRESS YOURSELF THROUGH YOUR BRAND

EXPRESS YOURSELF THROUGH YOUR BRAND

Screen Shot 2019-03-13 at 16.10.53.png

Let’s talking branding!

A lot of people are concerned about how to stand out in the marketplace. They may fear that there are too many stylists, health coaches, relationship coaches, MUAs, massage therapists etc. Branding is what helps you stand out. Every new or existing entrepreneurs can differentiate themselves from others who operate in the same nice through branding.

People are often surprised to see that my 'brand colours' are not just on my website and social media but also in my home, wardrobe and accessories.

I didn't choose colours, fonts, photos because I thought they would work as a business.

My brand is an extension of me.

One of the mistakes I see many entrepreneurs make is trying too hard to DEVELOP a brand. A brand needs to fit YOU not the other way around.

If you are a service-based business then your clients are buying YOU. Not your brand or a product. You are your brand. People buy from people. Let them see what they'll be getting.

This is the fastest way to attract your ideal clients too because people love to do business with those with similar values and tastes. The Know, Like and Trust Factor is about building a rapport and a strong visual representation of what they get when they work with you will ensure you build a connection quickly.

Don't listen to others. This is a time to follow your gut.

Over the years, I've been told all sorts of nonsense:

"Your website is too pink."

(By a man that was advising me on my marketing.)

"You need to choose a brighter pink to attract entrepreneurs."

(By a female coach who used hot pink.)

"You need to only put photos of yourself on your About Page."

(By a branding 'expert'.)

But I followed my gut and my brand is ME. Maybe that's thanks to years of being a Personal Stylist and knowing the importance of letting your image reflect your personality.

And do you know what?

One of the first things many of my clients say is that they were attracted to me because of my 'brand'.

Do you. Always.

Want help making your brand an extension of you?

Then you'll love my 'Branding Like a Pro' Business Bundle. It's sooo much more than just colours and fonts.

It will also cost you less than the price of a meal out with your partner but will be one of the most effective ways to attract your dream clients.

What are your brand colours, I'd love to know? And are these the colours that you wear, own, decorate your home in and just feel right? Please comment below.

HOW TO GET MORE CLICK-THROUGHS FROM INSTAGRAM

0001-17 copy.jpg

Are you on Instagram?

I have to say it’s my favourite social media platform (Facebook is a close second).

But the issue is you can’t just add links in the same way as other platforms.

Instagram only has one clickable link and that’s in your bio.

So, how do you make the most Instagram so people can see what you have to offer and also sign-up to multiple things at once?

This is where Linktr.ee comes in.

It’s free and I love it.

Yes, you can of course create a page on your website to direct people to with different links but I’ve found I get a better response (and sign-up rate) when I use Linktr.ee.

Below is a video I made for my Mastermind

I share how and why to use Linktr.ee to get people converting from Instagram to where you actually want them...your lead magnet and website.

Enjoy!

Emma xx

P.S. I created this for the Mastermind I ran specifically for Personal Stylists (I don't just work with stylists, I work with any service-based entrepreneur) so that's why I used 2 examples for stylists.

How to Price Your Business Services

How to Price Your Business Services

0001 (8) copy 2.jpg

One of the questions clients always ask is,

"How much should I charge?"

or

"How do I raise my prices?"

If you run a service-based business then it can feel daunting to know where to start when pricing your services.

It’s all too easy to just look around at the ‘competition’ and position yourself somewhere in between the lowest and highest price range.

But this isn’t an effective way to run a business. We have no idea what overheads other people have. What one person is happy to receive in exchange for their time and effort does NOT need to be what you charge. Plus people have all sorts of limiting views around money (and themselves) that causes them to feel very uncomfortable charging and even talking about their prices.

it’s always best to ignore what everyone else is doing and price your business in a way that reflects you and the service you provide.

I’ve created a PRICING GUIDE audio sharing how I recommend my clients decide on the best price for them.

This audio is for you if you:

  • Are just starting out and feel unsure what to charge;

  • Want to feel more confident when talking about your prices;

  • Feel ready to increase your prices but aren’t sure what to make them;

  • Realise that your own thoughts on money may be affecting your business;

  • Are ready to make more money without having to work harder.

READY TO GET YOUR BUSINESS FEATURED IN NEWSPAPERS & ON RADIO?

READY TO GET YOUR BUSINESS FEATURED IN NEWSPAPERS & ON RADIO?

I get so excited when I see my clients featured in their local newspapers or on the local radio.

ME FEATURED IN THE NEWSPAPER AS A PERSONAL STYLIST.

It’s such incredible FREE marketing for your business.

You don’t need me to tell you that though.

We can often feel intimidated by journalists but remember they often have a tough job trying to fill their papers and ‘air time’.

They are crying out for decent news!!

(PHOTO IS OF ME FEATURED IN THE NEWSPAPER AS A PERSONAL STYLIST.)

So, what is ‘news’?

It’s something that is well…NEW!

It’s something that’s different and that people are interested to read/hear about.

It could be a new launch, announcement, success story, tips on a hot topic or even controversial comment.

You have a stand-out story, I’m sure of it.

HOW ABOUT ONE OF THESE?

  • You did a survey and it revealed that _____.

  • You’ve got something to say that you know will ruffle a few feathers.

  • You’ve just helped someone achieve an amazing feat.

  • Your book has just come out.

  • You’re the only person in your industry to specialise in ______.

  • You’re running a workshop that they’d be interested in. Just like my client, Jill Stander, having her ‘New Year, New You’ workshop featured (see photo below).

GET FEATURED IN THE NEWS

OKAY SO YOU HAVE A GREAT STORY. WHAT NEXT?

  1. Decide who you want to reach - who is your Ideal Client.

  2. Find out which radio stations/newspapers they’re likely to listen to/read. Not sure? Ask them!

  3. Gather contact details for relevant journalists and editors. Try Twitter and LinkedIn. Don’t go for generic email addresses like news@ because they’ll likely not get checked. You want specific names!

  4. Do your research. What kind of stories do they cover?

  5. Write an email pitch or press release.

Local newspapers are often short-staffed, so a well-written press release, with all the relevant information may be printed with very few changes. There are plenty of examples of press releases on the web. Outsource if you’re not confident in your writing skills.  Use an email subject line that includes the phrase 'story idea' and a compelling one-liner that describes your story. It's absolutely fine to pitch ideas over the phone too. Just avoid obviously busy times.

6. Be prepared to follow up!

Have you been wanting to get yourself and your business OUT THERE but either aren’t sure you have anything decent to contribute or the thought terrifies you?!

Get in touch with me, this is exactly what I am passionate about helping my clients to do.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU MARKET YOURSELF?

Comment

HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU MARKET YOURSELF?

So, you run a service-based business?

The chances are you show up on social media, you’re working on building your email list and have pitched yourself to both platforms; maybe you’ve made a few calls and even paid for some advertising.

But if you’re like the majority of business owners I speak to, you’re wondering why you aren’t drowning in new clients. Especially when you feel like you’re doing ALL the things and are constantly working on your business.

The truth is you most likely need to market yourself a hell of a lot more. By that I mean you need to PROMOTE yourself and your services constantly. I’m about to show you why.

I can pretty much guarantee you aren’t marketing yourself as often as you think you are.

I know because I was like that for years!

You need to be SELLING/PROMOTING yourself and your business in some way every day.

Below is a great article written by Thomas Smith in 1885. It’s as true today as it was then and in actual fact I think we could actually increase the timeline it tasks for someone to notice us.

Take a look at the point at which people start to pay attention to a strong marketing message. This was using adverts as the point of focus but you could substitute that with ‘sales email’, ‘networking event’, ‘strong call to action on a post’.

  1. The first time someone looks at an advertisement, they do not see it.

  2. The second time, they do not notice it.

  3. The third time, s/he is conscious of its existence.

  4. The fourth time, s/he faintly remembers having seen it before.

  5. The fifth time, s/he reads it.

  6. The sixth time, s/he turns up their nose at it.

  7. The seventh time, s/he reads it through and says, “Oh brother!”

  8. The eighth time, s/he says, “Here’s that confounded thing again!”

  9. The ninth time, s/he wonders if it amounts to anything.

  10. The tenth time, s/he asks their neighbour if they have tried it.

  11. The eleventh time, s/he wonders how the advertiser makes it pay.

  12. The twelfth time, s/he thinks it must be a good thing.

  13. The thirteenth time, s/he thinks perhaps it might be worth something.

  14. The fourteenth time, s/he remembers wanting such a thing a long time.

  15. The fifteenth time, s/he is tantalised because s/he cannot afford to buy it.

  16. The sixteenth time, s/he thinks he will buy it some day.

  17. The seventeenth time, s/he makes a memorandum to buy it.

  18. The eighteenth time, s/he swears at their poverty.

  19. The nineteenth time, s/he counts their money carefully.

  20. The twentieth time s/he sees the ad, s/he buys what it is offering.

How does it make you feel to read that? Are you starting to realise that you need to be really SEEN a lot more than you thought?

If you’re not sure what to do to market yourself effectively then you can download my FREE 36-page workbook that takes you through 23 different ways you can market yourself without spending a penny on advertising.

Does the thought of SELLING yourself MORE send you into a hot TIZZY?

Do you feel guilty, icky, or bad when sharing your offers or services online?

Is one of your greatest fears that you'll come across as pushy or 'sale-sy'?

Do you worry that if you promote your services/products too often you'll be viewed as spammy?

Does your confidence waiver when it comes to the 'sales conversation' with a potential client?

Then yoU’ll love my ‘Fall In Love with Selling’ course.

4 THINGS I LEARNT ABOUT MONEY FROM MULTIMILLIONAIRES

4 THINGS I LEARNT ABOUT MONEY FROM MULTIMILLIONAIRES

One of the women in my Mastermind was reading this amazing book by Jen Sincero.

It's one of the mindset books on the reading list I give to all my clients.

As you can see, Jen dedicated this book to Gina DeVee and that's who I trained with for a year to become a coach.

Hearing this, she asked me to share my biggest takeaways from learning from the multi-millionaire. (I've actually hired 6 multiple 7-figure female entrepreneurs over the last 10 years because I love learning from the best!).

Honestly, it comes down to knowing something else is possible (as in you CAN get paid great money to do what you love) and then being consistent about keeping your mind focussed on what you want (rather than what you don’t).

As well as learning from these powerhouse women, I've read many books on money (over 50) and been studying and applying the mindset work in depth.

Here are my 4 top tips to transform your relationship with money:

1) READ WEALTH CONSCIOUSNESS BOOKS

Gina taught us to keep filling our mind daily with wealth consciousness books. The two she recommended are: The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D Wattles and Think & Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.

When Gina finishes one she picks the other one up and starts reading it again. She reads at least 15-30 mins a day.

I love TSOGR and will happily read that regularly. I prefer to listen to Think & Grow Rich.

2) CHANGE YOUR MONEY 'STORY'

Then it's about changing your money ‘story’. Noticing when you're feeling negative around money and then switching the language around.

As a child, we learn about money from our parents, society, religion, teacher, films, the media but that doesn't mean what we learn is true. The problem is, we can learn a lot of very limiting beliefs that we take on as fact when really, they have just been someone else's experience.

Take for instance the belief that many people have that you 'have to work hard for money.'

Who says? I know it might seem to be the case when you look around you but there are thousands of people out there who bring in money and aren't busting a gut to do so.

When we tell ourselves we have to work hard for money and we're entrepreneurs then that can become true for us and cause all kinds of stress and hardship.

I know because this was one of my tough-to-shift beliefs. I often felt guilty if I had some passive income coming in and would either sabotage my efforts or force myself to work harder for it. This belief can lead to burn-out too.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you'll never have to do anything and that money will just land in your lap BUT how about shifting the belief to:

Money comes easily to me as I do the things I love.

That has a very different energy and will produce very different actions and results.

Take a look at any negative language and thoughts you have around money and you need to shift them to become positive.

3) BECOME THE NEXT LEVEL VERSION OF YOU

It's then about BEING the person who has the success you want BEFORE you even see it in your life. You can't get healthy by continuing to do the same things you did when you get sick, right?

We know we have to become the healthy person first and then health follows.

It's the same with money.

You have to become the abundant, affluent version of yourself and then the money follows.

Want more money, clients and success? Get clear on how many and then ask yourself: what will that next level version of me do, wear, eat, act, think? Start doing those things now! That does not mean you have to go and max out your credit card - that won't help your money mindset one bit!!

Get creative here.

Go to the hotels you'd love to stay in and order a glass of champagne or a pot of tea. You have to put yourself in the surroundings first and then you feel comfortable and they feel like your #norm. THEN the magic can happen.

4) YOU HAVE TO FEEL ABUNDANT NOW

All the time we're desperately wishing and hoping for money to come to us, it keeps  us thinking about a future time. That's not how you attract money and clients.

You have to FEEL abundant NOW. You have to feel as if you already have what you want - the wardrobe you want, the clients you want, the money in the bank, the Amazon bestseller.

THEN your Subconscious mind can get to work on helping you start acting that way automatically AND you activate the powerful Law of Attraction.

That's why I'm always talking about affirmations, vision boards, visualisations and writing 'as if'. When done right, they will completely transform your entire life - for the better.

They get you into the STATE of having it already and that's when you are able to receive it. Sounds ironic right? But it's just what happens

Like an athlete seeing and feeling herself winning that gold medal over and over in her mind - literally thousands of times before she actually wins it. That's what you need to do too.

I cover this in detail in my 21 Days to £5K Mindset course. That whole course is about shifting the way you think about, talk about and act around money.

FACEBOOK LIVE TIPS

BECOME A LIVESTREAMING CLIENT MAGNET WITH FACEBOOK LIVE

Someone asked me for some tips on doing their first Facebook Live tonight so I thought I wanted to share them with you too.

1) Set up a group and go and practise in it so you know how to turn it on and off and ensure the lighting and background are good.

2) Practise an opening line so you start off confidently as soon as you see you’re ‘on air’.

3) Map out an opener, your main content and a call to action at the end.

4) Wear something you feel confident in.

5) Put your main points on post-its right next to your phone so they are easy to see and you don’t forget any of your key points.

6) Make sure you look INTO the camera and not at yourself. This is better for the viewer because you’ll be looking at them and also for you because it will remind you that you’re doing this for the people watching.

7) If you forget what you’re talking about don’t worry about it...just say that and laugh. That will bring your brain out of the freeze and you’ll seem real and authentic.

8) Have fun. This doesn’t need to be perfect. My first Facebook Live lasted 4 mins because I was so nervous  but it gets easier and now I really enjoy them.

9) And remember this...only people who are pushing themselves out of their comfort zone and therefore growing that experience nervous and stage fright. So it’s a great sign if you’re feeling a bit nervous.

HOW TO GET OVER FEAR OF SUCCESS

Comment

HOW TO GET OVER FEAR OF SUCCESS

HOW TO GET OVER FEAR OF SUCCESS

Fear of success is very common and that’s because fearing change is what our brains are wired to do. You are literally going against your internal programming and survival instincts when you set new and big goals.

So don’t beat yourself up about it but yes, you do need to work through it otherwise it will always feel like you have one foot on the accelerator and the other on the break the whole time your run your business.

Finish the sentence (below) as many times as you can until you have written everything your brain can think of.

I am scared to be a success in case/because…

Give your brain the time to share. It's trying to be heard and when we try to think positively over it without letting it speak, it just gets louder!

And your subconscious mind (where this fear comes from) is FIVE TIMES MORE POWERFUL than your conscious mind anyway so you'll be fighting a losing battle if you try to ignore it and its fears.

Then take each answer and write out 3 reasons why that isn’t actually true/fact (or as they say...absolute BS).

For example:
I am scared to be a success in case I get trolled on the internet.

The 3 reasons why this is BS are:

  1. People will say things whether I’m being successful or not. A troll will always be a troll so I can stay small or go big. It's about them, not ME. They'll just troll someone else if I'm staying small and not being seen.
  2. I might NEVER even get trolled anyway and I’m stopping myself from doing what I love to protect myself from something that may NEVER happen.
  3. The people whose opinions I really value will want me to be a success.

do this for EVERY sentence you wrote out. Coach yourself through it.

Once you have done that...

imagine you're 90 sitting on your sofa and you look back and REALISE you never went for your dreams.

Write about how you feel. It's good if this feels painful. We are trying to change the what your brain links pain (aka fear) to.

You will ALWAYS have fear. We can’t get rid of that - but we can use it to our advantage.

This is not just about 'feel the fear and do it anyway', it’s about changing that fear to be the FEAR OF NOT GOING FOR IT.

After that amp up the excitement of the results you want.

But do the other exercises first and your brain will accept them and get excited too.

Try this and let me know in the comments below how differently you feel about creating success in your business and going NEXT LEVEL.
